Find Balance

Seek Balance in Your Life

One thing I've noticed after running my course on "Relaxed Productivity", talking to people, and doing some of my own personal development learning... we have a skewed version of what's important, and what productivity is.

We all want to be productive, but we tend to equate that to work and getting things done. We forget about our relationships and taking time for things that are important to us.

I challenged the people who took my course to consider ALL facets of their lives to plan for success.

We often envy people who have lots of money, have lots of books published, run huge companies, have private planes, and "stuff", but when I looked at a lot of the productivity "gurus", I found that many of them had been bankrupt, had addictions, were divorced, among other things.

I was watching the story of Hal Elrod, the creator of "The Miracle Morning", and he told how in his pursuit of spreading his work and publishing more books, being on more podcasts, travelling for more publicity, he forgot about relationships. He even viewed time with his kids as taking him away from creating more in his work. It took serious illness to make him see what he was missing (watch "The Miracle Morning" on YouTube).

Listen to the warning signs in your life... what part of you needs more attention? What are you focusing on? Is it worthwhile?

When you can balance all facets of your life, you have a greater chance in making sure that you won't crash and burn and have regrets in an area.
